Rob Mazzoli
Principal
I am so excited to serve the students, staff, parents and community as Principal of Tropic Isles Elementary. We have been hitting the ground running to have an amazing start of the 2019-2020 school year. I spent my childhood and early teens in in the tri-state area of Philadelphia. I moved from Cherry Hill, New Jersey to Cape Coral in the mid 1980’s. I graduated from Cape Coral High School in 1988 – Go Seahawks! After high school, I attended Edison Community College and transferred to USF in Tampa to complete my studies. I graduated with a degree in Special Education from USF and my Masters of Educational Leadership from FGCU. I started my teaching career in Lee County 25 years ago at J. Colin English Elementary. I was a 4th and 5th grade ESE-Resource teacher in an inclusion setting. After 4 years, I was the Behavior Specialist. I received my first appointment as Assistant Principal at Gulf Middle School. From there, I was an Assistant Principal at Gulf Elementary. For the last 14 years, I served as Principal at Gulf Elementary, Pine Island Elementary and Edgewood Academy. I have been honored and blessed to have worked with so many talented and exceptional educators. I have been married for almost 20 years and have 2 children, both in high school. Being at Tropic Isles Elementary really excites me. This is a beautiful school with a rich tradition of success, student achievement and quality educational services to our children. I look forward to meeting all the students and families during Open House on Friday, August 9th from 5:00PM-7:00PM. We are going to have an amazing school year!

Assistant Principal
Thank you for the warm welcome that I have received from so many of you! Serving as the Assistant Principal of Tropic Isles since the start of this school year has been rewarding and an honor. I am so proud of the hard work and dedication that our students and staff demonstrate every day they come to school! I come to Tropic Isles Elementary School with 23 years of educational experience all within Lee County. I was born in State College, PA and then moved to Western New York when I was 11 years old. I understand the transition it takes to transfer schools and have to learn so many new processes and expectations. In 2000, I graduated from SUNY Cortland with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a minor in psychology of the exceptional student. In 2015, I graduated with a master’s degree in educational leadership from FGCU. My career in Lee County began at J. Colin English where I taught first and second grade inclusion. From there, I spent the next 11 years at Gulf Elementary serving as a first grade teacher, Reading Specialist and Curriculum Specialist. Most recently, my work was done at Pine Island Elementary where I was a fifth grade teacher for one year before becoming the school’s technology specialist and administrative designee. Through my journey in education I have had the honor to touch thousands of student’s lives while working alongside some of the most talented and hard working educators in the district. I have been married to my husband for 20 years and have two children who are both in high school in Lee County. Over the last five months since I have had the opportunity to immerse myself into Tropic Isles, I realize the many traditions, strong relationships and high expectations that make TIE the amazing school it is. I look forward to the remainder of this year and many more years to come serving the students, staff and community of Tropic Isles Elementary.
