I hope everyone had a wonderful Spring Break. It’s hard to believe that we are in the final quarter of the 2022-2023 school year.
We have had a very challenging, yet, successful school year thus far. As we move into the 4th quarter, please pay attention to some important dates communicated to you. We have a SAC/PTO meeting scheduled for Thursday, April 6th and 5:00PM. On Friday, April 14th, we have our Spring Fling from 5:00-7:30PM. This will be a fun event full of games (both fun and academic) along with music, food and inflatables. We’ll even have a Laser Tag obstacle course. This is a fun-filled community event. Please save the date. More information is on the way.
We start our testing season in May. Our 3rd-5th grade students will be taking the FAST state assessment starting the first week in May. Our K-2 students will also be taking the FAST Progress Monitoring 3. We will be sending home more concrete dates with times for all of our grades. It is important to have conversations with your children about doing their absolute best. Once our testing windows are open, please be reminded to have your child in school and on time. We also ask that your child receives a good night’s rest and a good breakfast either at home or here at school the day of each test.
We realize bus transportation has not been favorable this school year. We still experience late buses in the AM and PM on a daily basis. We are doing our best to communicate with our families when buses are late in the afternoon. Sometimes, we do not receive communication from transportation about split runs or replacement buses. Our bus ramp supervisors work diligently to ensure that every student is boarding the correct bus in the afternoon. If you choose to pick up your child at school due to a late bus, please be prepared to show your driver’s license. This is an expectation for every parent/guardian.
If you pick up your child for dismissal, please note that we dismiss at 3:10PM. Our parent Pick-up dismissal line ends at 3:35PM and we bring our students inside our front office. We do a very good job loading our students in cars at dismissal. It is expected that there will be lines due the hundreds of students we dismiss on a daily basis. Please be patient with our dismissal staff. It is important that ALL parents pick up their child on time. If you are late picking up your child (anytime after 3:35PM), we will log you in our system as being late. If you are repeatedly late, you will receive a late notice informing you that you will be charged a late fee. We understand emergency situations occur. Please notify the office at 995-4704 if you are going to be later than 3:35PM.
We look forward to wrapping up the year with you and your children. We have a busy 9 weeks ahead of us. It is important that we work together as a team. Please make sure if there are any changes to your address or phone number that you update your FOCUS account. You can always call the office for support with your FOCUS account. Please contact the school if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Rob Mazzoli, Principal
