Welcome back, families!
We are off to a great start to a new school year. We are especially thrilled to see all the new faces joining our school community. We know this is going to be a fantastic year filled with growth, discovery, and fun.
This year, we will continue to focus on our STAR expectations to ensure a positive and productive learning environment for everyone. These expectations are at the heart of everything we do:
* S - Safety First: We prioritize the safety of our students above all else. This means keeping hands and feet to ourselves and following all school rules to protect everyone.
* T - Take Responsibility: We encourage students to be accountable for their actions and their learning. This includes being prepared for class and doing their best work.
* A - Active Learning: We believe in hands-on, engaging education. Our goal is to create a vibrant classroom where students are curious, ask questions, and participate enthusiastically.
* R - Respect Others: We teach our students the importance of kindness and empathy. This means listening to their teachers and peers and celebrating our differences.
To help us maintain a safe and orderly campus, we kindly ask that you review and follow our updated arrival and dismissal procedures. These procedures are designed to ensure a smooth and secure transition for all students. Your cooperation in this matter is crucial to keeping our children safe. Please make sure to read the detailed information in the welcome packet you received. In addition, please arrive prior to 8:40 AM as we close our front gate and students will be considered tardy at that time.
In the afternoon, please continue to follow our pick-up procedures. Please remain in your vehicles at all times. We start moving our dismissal line around 3:07PM. All parents must pick-up their children by 3:30PM. We will bring all students inside at 3:30PM and parents will have to park and come inside to pick-up your child with proper ID.
As many of you know, our school has been inspired by the Ron Clark Academy’s house system. This program is designed to create a culture of family and unity among our students. This year, all students and staff will be sorted into one of four houses, each with its own unique values and colors. The houses will earn points for demonstrating our STAR expectations, participating in school events, and showing great character. This system is a fun way to build strong relationships across grade levels and foster a sense of belonging for every single child.
Thank you for entrusting us with your children's education. We are so grateful for your partnership and look forward to working together to make this a truly successful year. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions. We can't wait to see all the amazing things we will accomplish together!

Principal, Tropic Isles Elementary
