Welcome Back Message from Mr. Mazzoli
Dear Tropic Families,
Welcome back to a brand new school year where we are committed to "Surf the Waves of Success" together! As we set forth to embark on this exciting journey, I am filled with immense gratitude and anticipation for the incredible opportunities that lie ahead. Our theme this year, “Surfing the Waves of Success,” embodies the spirit of resilience, adaptability, and forward momentum that defines our school community.
I certainly hope everyone has been having an amazing summer break. Our first day of school is scheduled for Monday, August 12th. Please take note of some important dates. On July 29th-31st, we will be offering our Jump Start Kindergarten Program from 8:30AM-12:30PM. This is an opportunity for just our Kindergarten students to come experience school without other students on campus. Teachers will conduct screeners on each student to strategically assign them in a classroom. Students will be able to acclimate to the school setting, classroom, routines and structures to give them a “jump start” to kindergarten. Kindergarten Parents will have their own Open House on Wednesday, July 31st from 12:30PM-3:30PM.
Our 1st-5th Grade Open House is scheduled for Thursday, August 8th: Last Names A-L 5:30PM-6:15PM and Last Names M-Z 6:15PM-7:00PM. On this day you will receive the following:
*Teacher Assignments, *Parent Back to School Packets, *School Supply Lists (also on this website), *Transportation Information, *2 Car Rider Tags, *Create/Update FOCUS Parent Portal, and *School Messenger Information. Our Sea Star Market (food pantry) will be open as well.
I encourage ALL families to create a FOCUS account or update any information necessary. FOCUS is a critical resource for families. If you have a change of address or phone number, please update that information in your FOCUS account prior to school starting. We will have staff available during open house to assist families in creating and/or updating their account.
School times are 8:55AM-3:10PM. We open our gates at 8:30AM. All students will go through our weapons detection system (just like they did last year). IMPORTANT, please do not drop off your child prior to 8:20AM. There will be NO supervision until that time. At 8:20AM, there will be a staff member outside directing students to line up for entry into our school. Our late bell rings at 8:55AM. We will close our gates promptly at 8:55AM. If you are late, you will be directed to park your vehicle and walk your child into the front office. You must have your ID with you every time you enter our campus. All visitors to Tropic Isles will need to go through our weapons detection system.
NEW PROCESS FOR STUDENT ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL
ALL ESE Self-Contained, Pre-K, Head Start and Siblings will be dropped off and picked up on our North Bus Ramp (located directly beside our main bus ramp). All cars of students in these programs will enter through the bus ramp gate and proceed to the right. We will have signs posted outside our campus to assist families. This starts on the first day of school.
If you have any questions regarding the start of school, please call the office at 995-4704.
Sincerely,
Rob Mazzoli, Principal
